The Minnesota Twins visited New Britain on August 18, 1997, for a seven-game exhibition game and Home Run Derby. Rock Cats' pitcher Benj Sampson pitched a complete game, striking out six, walking none, and giving up only five hits. The Rock Cats won the game, 3-0.

Twins Banner
This banner hung outside New Britain Stadium to welcome the Twins, on their first visit to New Britain. The Twins were the first major league team to visit New Britain since 1919, when the Boston Braves played the semi-pro New Britain Pioneers.

Both teams on the field
This picture shows both the Twins (3rd base side) and the Rock Cats (with their backs to the camera on the 1st base side).
